Madonna and Warren Beatty dated during the filming of the movie.

“She’s a huge personality, diligent and disciplined and a spectacular dancer and performer… When we were going [out] and she was making the documentary Truth or Dare, I said, ‘I don’t want to be in it.’ And she said, ‘Why would I want you in it?‘” Beatty recalls. But the actor eventually conceded: “I said if I can have approval, I don’t want to inhibit you.”

In one scene in the documentary, Madonna declines to have a doctor examine her off-camera and Beatty comments that “she doesn’t want to live off-camera, much less talk.” Now, he says he found her decision to include the moment touching.

“I thought that was a kind gesture on her part because that captured how I felt,” he says. “I was kind of touched by that because I felt that I said the right thing.”

Collins revealed that she was pregnant with his baby but had an abortion.

“It would have been absolute career death for me to have done that, even though I wasn’t yet getting to a broody period, I got to my broody period a couple of years later but it was just, it would have been unthinkable to have a child.

He didn’t have any money, I had nothing, and I believe if you are going to bring a child into the world that you have to have a responsibility to that child.”

Warren Beatty and Joan Collins attend a party in Los Angeles, circa 1959.

In 1959, Collins began a relationship with Hollywood newbie Warren Beatty:

“Although I wasn’t madly in love with Warren, he and I were actually very compatible, even if he needed to have sex several times a day, which often wore me out. I once shocked my friend Joanne Woodward — who was married to Paul Newman — by saying I needed a break because the endless bonking was exhausting me. ‘Don’t!’ she warned. ‘If you have a relationship with a libidinous 22-year-old, you’d better let him. Otherwise he’ll look for other avenues, as it were.’”

The couple continued seeing one another and eventually became engaged, but

Beatty’s womanizing led to their split.
